Update on Upcoming GCUOBA Lagos Branch Election

Come this Sunday, May 14, 2017, Lagos Branch of GCUOBA would be holding its general elections.

All positions have been declared vacant for credible members to vie for.

We are expected to use this opportunity to elect members with sound leadership qualities that would restore the Peace, Comradeship and Vibrancy the Branch once enjoyed.

Before voting a candidate into any position, please consider:

1) Motives: “A person who exhibits questionable character is believed to have wrong motive” we ought to elect somebody who values people over power and position.

2) Accountability: We need someone who would be accountable to both Executives and the General House and also transparent in financial dealings.

3) Ability to Listen: A person who ignores wise counsel is not suitable to occupy any leadership position. A good leader should be a good listener.

4) Respect: We need someone who has respect for himself and seniors. Respect is GCU’s culture which have unified the Association till date.

5) Prudence: May we not elect a President who would paint the picture of a bright and humongous future and then use our properties to obtain huge loans, mismanage the funds and at the end of the day, run the entire Association into deep waters with the financial institution. Amen.
