Progress Report on the 1,000-Seater Auditorium Complex

The Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association (GCUOBA) is pleased to provide an update on the progress of the GCU @ 80 Legacy Project – the 1,000-seater world-class auditorium complex.

This landmark initiative, conceived as part of the 80th Anniversary celebration of our great institution, continues to gather momentum as we move from planning into active implementation.

We are delighted to inform all stakeholders, alumni, and partners that the project has officially transitioned into the construction phase, with the appointed contractor now fully mobilized to site.

Current Status:

Site preparation activities have commenced
Contractor mobilization completed
Preliminary works ongoing

Project Scope:
The auditorium complex is designed to accommodate over 1,000 persons and will include:

– A modern main auditorium
– Council chamber and meeting facilities
– Executive offices
– Guest suites
– Outdoor lifestyle facilities including gazebos, restaurant, and relaxation areas

The project is scheduled for completion within a two-year timeline, upon which it will stand as a symbol of excellence, unity, and enduring legacy for generations of GCU students.
