GOVERNMENT COLLEGE UGHELLI OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION (GCUOBA) 5TH ANNUAL FUND-RAISING DINNER, PORT HARCOURT, 2016

As part of the goal of the Old Boys of Government College Ughelli to restore its alma mater to its previous standard (with better infrastructural development, upgrade in discipline and improvement in academic performance) as envisioned by the founding fathers, we annually organize a Fund-Raising Dinner to achieve this great vision.

The 2016 Annual Fund-Raising Dinner would hold at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Saturday 8th October 2016 by 5:00pm

The dinner will host important dignitaries across the social spectrum under the distinguished Chairmanship of Ambassador Dele Cole. Professor Andrew Igho Joe, former DVC Academic and former Provost, College of Education Warri will be the Keynote Speaker and would speak on the topic: Educational Standards in Nigeria: Are they failing?

His Excellency Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief (Barr.) Nyasom Wike shall be the Chief Host of the Dinner while the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa shall be the Special Guest of Honour. Some other important personalities that will grace the event are Sen. Ovie-Omo Agege and Hon Solomon Ahwinahwi.

Some distinguished alumni will be honoured with lifetime achievement awards and they are: Justice Duke Njibeako; Mr. Stephen Agodo; Chief Felix Iwerebon; Mr. Godwin Adokpaye; Chief (Engr.) Joseph J. Akpieyi; Prof. Itse Sagay; Sir (Engr.) Godwin Omene; Dr. Jerry Nwakwo; Chief Albert Egoh; Chief Jacson Dede and Chief Maxwell Oteri

Also, GCUOBA National ID Card programme would be lunched at the event. All Old Boys of GCU are expected to have the ID card which would be multi-functional. More details would be made available at the event.
